Thanks to the support of the Willy Robert Pitzer Foundation, HANGARMUSIK was invited to the international youth orchestra festival “Podium Zukunft,” where it had the opportunity to meet the NEOJIBA orchestra from Brazil and MIAGI from South Africa. A cultural and social exchange among young musicians from three continents emerged from this encounter.
Leila Weber conducted the program. In addition to Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite, Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Les Sauvages, and Jean Sibelius’s Impromptu, she conducted the public premiere of our own composition, HM opus 2 – Erinnerung an Barjac.
Brigitte Täubl conducted Francesco Geminiani’s „La Follia“.
Two songs specially arranged for HANGARMUSIK by Nigel Shore were also performed for the first time: Gustav Mahler’s Liebst du um Schönheit and Richard Strauss’s Morgen, sung by Sarah Längle.
