The new official residence of the Federal President was inaugurated with a concert on 28 August 2026. It was a great pleasure and honor for HANGARMUSIK to help inaugurate it through music.
Together with a jazz ensemble from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie from Frankfurt am Main, we helped shape this special evening.
“Zuhause in Deutschland. Wie wir miteinander leben” (“At Home in Germany. How We Live Together”) was the motto of the opening week. The concert was part of the program of events which, as Federal President Steinmeier said in his address, were “a signal” for the spirit of this new house, “in two respects: as a house of culture and as a house of encounter.”
