Playing their instruments for all to hear, the Hangarmusik team would regularly walk and play through Hangar 7 to draw the children's attention to the project. We gathered everyone together in the childcare room, which became our first rehearsal venue.

The kids were enthralled by our stringed instruments. In the early  rehearsals, we would practise the basic movements of bowing with self-made cardboard violins. After a few weeks, the cardboard violins were replaced by real instruments.

That moment when each child was able to hold their own instrument in their hands for the first time was indescribable.
