HANGARMUSIK musicians worked together to compose "HM opus 1".

What is the process of creating your own individual musical idea and honing it in order to create something new together with other musicians? How do you present your own creativity to a group in such a way that ideas can be worked upon and realised together to create something new together?

We explored this question with composer Cathy Milliken in mid-September, just before she went to Villa Aurora in Los Angeles as a fellow to write a commissioned piece for the Arditti Quartet. The workshop was organised with the support of the MIS Foundation, which supports projects that promote emotional intelligence and creativity.

The premiere of our collaborative composition took place in the Camaro Foundation and left our audience nothing short of impressed.
